You'll be spoilt for

choice with shopping

and dining options to

suit every taste and budget.

As well as a vibrant High Street, Chelmsford’s city centre benefits from three major shopping areas.

The High Chelmer Shopping Centre, Bond Street and the Meadows Shopping Centre are home to many of our favourite high street brands, coffee shops and restaurants.

John Lewis, Bond Street

City Centre Shopping

Bond Street opened in 2017 with flagship store John Lewis taking centre stage along with a new Cineworld, independent shops and several restaurants overlooking the river Chelmer. In contrast the city’s 800-year-old market at the opposite end of the city centre provides a whole host of stalls including antiques and collectables.

Prezzo, Chelmsford

City Centre Dining

When it comes to indulgence, Chelmsford city centre has a restaurant to suit every palate and budget. Ask Italia, Giggling Squid, Byron Burger, Bills, Prezzo, Las Iguanas, Turtle Bay to name just a few.

The Lion Inn, Boreham

Other Places To Eat

If you are looking for a great pub/restaurant out of town, just a few minutes drive from Beaulieu is The Lion Inn at Boreham, a restaurant which features in the Michelin Guide along with its sister eatery The Blue Strawberry at Hatfield Peveral.
